BREAKING: Wisconsin's Amari Allen Visiting Gophers
Amari Allen, a four-star recruit out of Wisconsin, will take an official visit to the University of Minnesota on Thursday.
Allen is one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2023 class and has offers from several Power 5 schools, including Wisconsin, Alabama, and Georgia.
The 6-foot-7 forward is a consensus four-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Wisconsin by 247Sports.
Allen averaged 24.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game as a junior at West Salem High School last season.
He led his team to a 23-2 record and a Division 4 state championship.
Allen is expected to make a decision on his college future in the coming weeks.
The Gophers are hoping to add Allen to a recruiting class that already includes four-star recruits Pharrel Payne and Braeden Carrington.
Allen's visit to Minnesota is a sign that the Gophers are making a strong push for the talented forward.
If Allen commits to Minnesota, it would be a major coup for head coach Ben Johnson and his staff.
Allen is one of the best recruits in the country and would be a key piece for the Gophers going forward.
