How to Share Your Wi-Fi Password

From Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

If you have an iPhone, you can instantly share your Wi-Fi password with other Apple devices. This means you won't have to tell visitors your Wi-Fi password ever again. To do this:

• Make sure that your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is connected to the Wi-Fi network that you want to share.
• Open the Settings app.
• Tap on Wi-Fi.
• Tap on the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to share.
• Tap on the Share Password button.
• Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network.
• Tap on the Share button.

The other person will now be able to connect to the Wi-Fi network using the password that you shared.

From Your Mac

To share your Wi-Fi password from your Mac, you can use the Keychain Access app. To do this:

• Open the Keychain Access app.
• Click on the System keychain.
• Find the entry for the Wi-Fi network that you want to share.
• Double-click on the entry.
• Click on the Show Password checkbox.
• Enter your Mac's password.
• The Wi-Fi password will now be displayed in the Password field.

You can now share the Wi-Fi password with the other person.

From Your PC

To share your Wi-Fi password from your PC, you can use the Network and Sharing Center. To do this:

• Open the Network and Sharing Center.
• Click on the Change adapter settings link.
• Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter that you want to share.
• Click on the Status option.
• Click on the Wireless Properties button.
• Click on the Security tab.
• Click on the Show characters checkbox.
• The Wi-Fi password will now be displayed in the Network security key field.

You can now share the Wi-Fi password with the other person.
